Nadia Castillo, Immigration Paralegal
Nadia graduated from Augustana College in 2021 where she received her B.A in Communication Studies with a double minor in Sociology and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Prior to joining the clinic, Nadia did a year of service with AmeriCorps through Illinois JusticeCorps (ILJC), a program placing volunteers in courthouses around Illinois to help people without lawyers navigate the court system. Through Illinois JusticeCorps, Nadia completed her year of service assisting pro-se litigants and was the lead coordinator in court assistance for Spanish-speaking patrons in the Cook County community at the Richard J. Daley Center. As a proud first-generation Chicana and student, Nadia is very passionate about representation of BIPOC in higher education as well as the workplace. This passion is a big motivator for Nadia to work in the legal field and increase the representation of Latinas in this area of work all while expanding the accessibility of services for Spanish speaking Latinx clients.
During her free time Nadia enjoys doing yoga, taking care of her plants, and hanging out with her friends.
