Julie Brady, Criminal Records Staff Attorney
Julie is a Criminal Records Staff Attorney in her first year with GCLC, focusing on cannabis expungements under the New Leaf program. Prior to joining GCLC, she received her undergraduate degree in Sports Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University School of Law. While in law school in Winston-Salem, she started a bail fund that helped more than 150 people gain their release from pretrial detention during the COVID-19 pandemic. Julie understands that poverty places countless burdens—tangible and intangible, physical and psychological—upon everyone it touches and has made it her mission to work opposed to the systems that continue to enable and impose those burdens.
Clearly, her Sports Management degree indicates that she had different career plans at one point, but these days she channels her feelings about baseball into various Chicago White Sox blog sites.
