  • Amate Fellow and Criminal Records Intern

I graduated this past May 2024 from Creighton University. Through my studies at Creighton, I developed a passion for understanding the intersections of health, medicine, and public policy within the world of law and graduated with a major in Medical Anthropology and a minor in Legal Studies. In my gap year between university and law school, I wanted to further explore advocacy and legal work.

At my site placement at GCLC, I work under the supervision of attorney Drew Curle. My responsibilities include researching criminal records, drafting and filing expungement and sealing paperwork, and contacting clients to help them navigate the legal system. What excites me most about this work is the opportunity to make a tangible impact on people's lives and getting to see the impact of legal advocacy.

Previously, I had the opportunity to work for my home state of South Dakota and interned for Representative Dusty Johnson. During my time on the Hill, I got to see the inner workings of the legislative process and further fostered my appreciation for the law and what good public policy can do for constituents.

Fun Fact: This past winter I had the opportunity to volunteer and decorate the White House for Christmas and meet Dr. Jill Biden.
