Adam M. Salzman, Executive Director
Adam joined GCLC as Executive Director in 2017. Before coming to the Clinic, he served as Village Trustee for Oak Park and as Chief of Staff for Cook County Commissioner Richard R. Boykin. While working for Commissioner Boykin, Adam drafted legislation and ran policy task forces addressing issues of economic development, child welfare, criminal justice reform, and mental health. He was also responsible for coordinating Commissioner Boykin’s communications and community outreach efforts throughout the 1st District of Cook County, which includes the Chicago neighborhoods of Austin, East and West Garfield, and North Lawndale.
Prior to working in government positions, Adam practiced law in the areas of disability rights, benefits, and estate planning. He began his career as an attorney in the Office of the Cook County Public Guardian where he represented children in juvenile court and handled adult guardianship cases. Adam is a graduate of Loyola Law School of Los Angeles and has been licensed to practice in Illinois since 2005.
